Divine Unity in Three Manifestations

In modern religious tradition, the images of the resurrected Jesus, Jehovah from the Old Testament, and the Holy Spirit are perceived as different aspects of a unified divine revelation, each playing its unique role in the lives of believers.

The image of the resurrected Jesus symbolizes victory over death and the affirmation of God's promises. His Resurrection is seen as a miracle and a historical event that completely changed the course of history, giving believers confidence in the truth of the Christian path and in the idea that Jesus’ teachings do not end with His earthly existence. As stated in one of the sources, "The Resurrection of Christ is the most incredible event in history. It was so astonishing and unexpected after the horror of the Crucifixion and the death of the Teacher, that even the disciples of Christ did not believe in His Resurrection..." (source: link txt).

Jehovah (or Yahweh) from the Old Testament represents the eternal, immutable origin—the essence of God and the foundation of all creation. This image embodies the ideas of primacy and omnipotence, serving as the basis for understanding divine justice and the creation of the world. One source emphasizes, "The Holy Scripture: God is the Eternal (in Hebrew - Jehovah)... God is one in essence, but Triune in Persons (Matt. 28:19)..." (source: link txt).

The Holy Spirit, in religious tradition, appears as a divine force that permeates the lives of believers and unites them into a single community. Its activity, described through images such as "the Spirit among the Apostles, their being bathed and anointed by a fiery source," indicates that the Holy Spirit provides spiritual renewal, enlightenment, and unity in love, strengthening faith and prompting genuine repentance (sources: link txt; link txt).

Thus, the modern perspective views these images as inseparable elements of a whole, manifested in three hypostases: Jehovah as the eternal Creator and Preserver, the resurrected Jesus as the central testimony of God’s grace and the power to overcome death, and the Holy Spirit as the source of spiritual enlightenment, renewal, and the unification of all believers into one spiritual community.
