Evening Liturgy: The Sole Time for Breaking the Fast
According to the prescriptions, eating and drinking are permitted only after the Evening Liturgy. That is, even though no food or drink should be consumed after 12 o’clock, the allowed time for partaking in food comes only after the service has concluded.Supporting citation(s):"It is now prescribed to fast in such a way that after 12 o’clock nothing is eaten or drunk, and food is only allowed after the Evening Liturgy. The Evening Liturgy during Great Lent is important also because community members who work during the day can participate. Thus, a greater number of people can take part in these magnificent services, filled with repentance and hope. And all of them can receive Communion after these services." (source: link txt)
