From Divine Spark to Material Chains

Some sources indicate that humanity lost its original freedom and creative purpose when, having rejected divine guidance, it decided to rely solely on its own "arbitrariness" and material achievements. Thus, instead of remaining the crown of nature and embodying the creative spark of the Creator, man embarked on a path of independent self-assertion, trying to avoid the need for God's patronage. This departure from the destined spiritual path led to his becoming dependent on the successes of technological progress and material substance, resulting in a life defined by laws alien to him rather than by the originally instilled divine love and order.

As explained in one source, when man wanted to secure "guaranteed agriculture, so as not to be dependent on the weather," he strayed from the true order and, by renouncing God, became lost:
"Man desires to have guaranteed agriculture so as not to be dependent on the weather... Therefore, man strayed and got lost. Progress began not at the moment when man became smarter, but at the moment when he increasingly fled from God." (source: link txt)

Another source reveals that man was originally created as the crown of nature, destined to enliven and transform the world, but the temptation of arbitrariness and the desire "to be like gods" led to his spiritual decline:
"Man was placed as the crown of nature to animate and transform it. Yet instead, he indulged in his own arbitrariness, heeding the voice of the Serpent-Satan. People wished to live according to their own will, to 'become like gods.'

But does nature have freedom?
..." (source: link txt)

Thus, man's choice to live by his own will, instead of remaining in harmony with the divine essence, became the cause of his transformation from a being possessing the Creator's spark into a dependent and governed creature, subjugated to the world he created and its technocratic mechanisms.
