Harmony and Dominion: Adam's Role in Eden

The biblical account of paradise demonstrates that Adam’s creation was intended to establish harmonious relationships between humanity and nature, as well as to grant him dominion over all creation. Adam was created to live in an exquisite garden, engaging in direct communion with the Creator and enjoying the bliss that came from his oneness with nature. It was in this paradise—where there was no need to worry about food and where disease and death did not exist—that man was meant to fully realize his role as a ceremonial ruler and as God’s representative on Earth.

However, despite his originally blessed state, the breaking of a commandment led to the loss of this condition, illustrating not only the forfeiture of primordial bliss but also a deviation from the predetermined plan for existence. Before the fall, Adam resided in a state of perfect harmony, where all elements and creatures obeyed him, as he was endowed with a special role—to be the prince over the visible world.

"Thus, having created man, God introduced him into paradise—a garden which He 'planted in Eden, in the east' (Genesis 2:8). Paradise was placed under man’s care, who lived in complete harmony with nature: he understood the language of the animals, and they obeyed him; all the elements obeyed him as their king. 'The Lord appointed man as the prince of this world and the ruler of the visible realm. However, Adam sinned before God, broke His law, and was expelled from Paradise.' (source: link txt)"
