Beauty: The Fusion of Universal Aesthetics and Personal Experience

When we speak of the beautiful, it is not so much about objective properties as it is about a deeply personal experience that transforms our perception of the world. In this astonishing sensation, two undeniably vivid components interweave. On one hand, the aesthetic sense is present in everything we see and feel, reflecting a holistic perception of existence. This universal sense of beauty empowers us to find inspiration everywhere, regardless of its form or content. On the other hand, works of art become a distinct embodiment of the beautiful, enriching our inner world and allowing us to perceive the individual facets of the aesthetic experience. It is precisely in the symbiosis of the universal and the individual that the energy capable of changing our attitude toward our surroundings is born. Thus, the beautiful becomes a mirror of our soul, reflecting both common human sensations and a deeply personal perception of the world, compelling us to continually seek inspiration in everyday life.

How do you define the concept of "the beautiful" and what does it mean to you in the context of personal perception?

In my understanding, "the beautiful" is not so much a collection of objectively fixed properties as it is a deeply personal sensation that arises during the aesthetic experience of existence. The beautiful can be seen as the combination of two essential components. On one hand, it refers to that universal moment of aesthetic experience present in everything we perceive through our senses. This basic sense of aesthetics arises independently of specific objects, reflecting our perception of the world in its entirety. On the other hand, the beautiful manifests itself in distinct works of art, where it takes on a particular form and serves as an object of aesthetic contemplation.

As noted in the philosophical work on the theory of beauty, "We cannot – and have no need – to develop a general theory of beauty here. We must, in the most condensed form, outline those aspects of existence that we call 'beauty' or 'the beautiful', which are directly linked to the overall course of our reflections. Without attempting to define what 'beauty' or 'the beautiful' is in general, let us first note the two moments present in that which is recognized as 'the beautiful', that is perceived as 'aesthetic.' The first of these moments is necessarily present in everything we aesthetically perceive and experience as beautiful; it is the moment that constitutes aesthetic perception as such. The second is at least a necessary element of the beautiful as it appears in works of art – the beautiful as an object of art." (source: 1267_6334.txt)

Thus, for me the beautiful means that which enriches the inner world through aesthetic experience, simultaneously bearing the universal character of aesthetics and finding individual expression in art. This perception does not reduce itself merely to external qualities but becomes a reflection of the inner experience in which universal forms of sensuality and personal attitudes toward the surrounding world are intertwined.
